Dear Colleagues,

we are pleased to announce this year’s congress
“Osteosynthesis International 2025 – Küntscher meets
Ilizarov” of the Küntscher Society in conjunction with the
3rd Military meeting on Bone reconstruction on
December 5-6, 2025 in Berlin.
We warmly invite you to the historic hall of the Federal
Academy for Security Policy.
“Küntscher meets Ilizarov” enables us to bring together
the ideas of two brilliant minds, whose discoveries and
innovations continue to shape the field of bone
reconstruction to this day. Especially today, with the
high incidence of war-related extremity injuries, both
reconstruction techniques can still develop
considerable innovative potential, even decades after
their establishment.
Injuries to the extremities are a topic that goes back to
the roots of military medicine. G. Küntscher also
treated such injuries on the Eastern Front. His technique
only gained worldwide recognition after the treated
prisoners of war had returned home. Now, civilian
hospitals in Germany are also increasingly confronted
with such injuries.
To ensure optimal patient-oriented care, all
reconstructive elements from orthopedics/trauma
surgery and plastic surgery must be closely and
seamlessly interlinked. This concept is not new and
represents a milestone. It will also prove useful in the
treatment of non-war injuries. We will hear key lectures
from pioneers in this field and hope to make a small
contribution to the further development and integration
of orthoplastic surgery.
We warmly welcome you!
Become part of this community for reconstructive
surgery! You will be confronted with new ideas and
experience inspiring discussions.
Sincerely
